Tucker Orman

Lab Technician

Tucker Orman supports day-to-day research activities at OPRL with interests in thermoregulation and athletic physiology.

Tucker earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, where he worked in the Cardiopulmonary and Respiratory Physiology Lab with Dr. Andrew Lovering. His primary research focused on thermoregulation in SCUBA divers, evaluating how suit type, body composition, and sex influence thermoregulation in cold water conditions. This research provided novel insight on suit choice for divers based on not only water conditions but also individual characteristics.

As a former competitive mountain bike racer, Tucker brings an athlete’s perspective to his research, combining scientific curiosity about physiological limits with hands-on experience in endurance and high-intensity performance.

Outside the lab, Tucker enjoys long bike rides, backpacking trips, and nighttime hikes up Spencer’s Butte with his roommates.
